Musée Cantini de Marseille
A room is also reserved for the display of some of the finest drawings from the museum's collection. Works by André Masson (Portrait de Hölderlin, 1939; La sphynge, 1944), Picabia (Transparences, 1932), Rothko (Untitled, circa 1940-1942), Dubuffet (Portrait de Michel Tapié, 1946), Picasso (Crânes, 1945), Hopper (Study for "Sun in an Empty Room", circa 1963) – already known to the public – are joined by some very recent acquisitions: two untitled gouaches by Bram van Velde (1975 and 1978) and a still life by Giorgio Morandi (1959).
