The Sixties : The great individualists: the continuation of the non-figurative adventure is illustrated by works by Jean Degottex, Olivier Debré, Maurice Estève, Geneviève Asse, Victor Vasarely as welle as Luis Feito, Arpad Szenes, Maria-Elena Vieira da Silva, Tal Coat, Raoul Ubac (Terre brûlée, 1970) and he sculptor Eduardo Chillida.
A further highlight is the presence in this section of the collection of some of the great individualists of the 20th century, artists whose sole point in common is to have followed their own trajectory, refusing membership of any defined group or movement: Antonin Artaud (neuf grands dessins des années 1945-47), Alberto Giacometti (Portrait de Diego, 1957), Balthus (Nature morte à la lampe, 1958, Le Baigneur, 1960), Francis Bacon (Autoportrait, 1976), Jean Dubuffet (Vénus du trottoir, 1946, Brouette en surplomb I, 1964) et Antoni Tapiès (Paille pressée, 1969, Rectangles, 1976).
