On January 26th, the FRAME exhibition organized by Musee Augustins de Toulouse and Musee des Beaux-Arts de Montreal opened in Montreal.  The first two nights of the opening were a grand success.

Each room was filled with canvases large and small exploring the painter himself and the images of Orientalism.

The exhibit not only shows a retrospective of all of Benjamin-Constant's work, but where his work fits into art history and world history.

Along side Benjamin-Constant's body of work are contemporary works that were directly inspired by Orientalism.  The photographer Majida Khattari recreated Benjamin-Constant's Sharifas with her portrait Desires and Delacroix's painting The Death of Sardanapalus in the portrait Tornado.
