Art & Music: Coastlines Sound Installation

Discover behind-the-scenes aspects of a unique sound installation created for the Dallas Museum of Art by students in Dallas, Texas and Toulon, France.

The Dallas Museum of Art presents the exhibition Coastlines: Images of Land and Sea with a unique multilayer digital sound installation created by graduate students and faculty in the Arts and Technology (ATEC) program at the University of Texas at Dallas, in collaboration with undergraduate students in the School of Information and Communication
and Media Engineering at the Université du Sud Toulon-Var in Toulon, France.

The Coastlines sound installation is supported through FRAME’s education initiative focused on the relationship between music and art funded by the Annenberg Fondation.

This is an original sound design created by UT Dallas student Roxanne Minnish for a painting by Jean Metzinger : The Harbor (1916-1917)
